The online Outlook app was infused with a text prediction function back in May so if you prefer accessing your e-mail in your browser, you get AI support when you’re composing your emails.
However, the desktop app was left behind a little with no significant improvements for a while now.
That’s about to change because Microsoft just published two new planned updates in Outlook for Windows 10 on their Microsoft 365 Roadmap page.
What are the new features of Outlook for Windows?
Text predictions
We mentioned the text prediction feature in the online version because that’s what’s about to happen also in Outlook‘s desktop version.
According to Microsoft’s description, the process is going to be fairly simple. You will be shown suggestions to complete the text when you will be typing and you will have a simple option to accept or just continue to type.
This feature will roll out starting this month in Outlook for Windows.
Intelligent based translations
Another interesting new feature is the intelligent based translations. Basically, you will have the option to translate a portion of text or turn on an automatic translation feature to understand emails written in foreign languages.
According to Microsoft’s description, this feature will start rolling out in October for Outlook for Windows.
