  1. Type PowerShell into the search bar.
  2. Right-click the PowerShell icon and choose Run as administrator.
  3. Enter the following command:
    • Get-AppxPackage | Where-Object -Property Name -eq 'microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps' | Remove-AppxPackageYour Account Settings Are Out of Date in Windows 10 Universal Mail App
  4. Restart your computer.
  5. Next, find %LOCALAPPDATA%Comms and rename it.
  6. Now visit the Microsoft Store.
  7. Next, reinstall the Mail application.

4. Switch to a local account and delete your email account from the Mail App

  1. Go to Settings and choose Accounts.

  3. Log in with your local account and start the Mail App.
  4. In Mail App go to Settings and choose Accounts.

  6. Switch back to the Microsoft account.
  7. Go to Settings and select Accounts.
  8. Next, log in with your Microsoft Account.

Note: After you’ve logged in with your Microsoft account your email account should be added to Mail app automatically and work without any problems.


5. Uncheck the option Sync with an Internet time server

  1. Go to Start and type control panel.
  2. Next, double click on the first result to open Control Panel.
  3. Go to Clock, Language & Region and select Data & Time.set date time computer
  4. On the Internet time tab select Change settings.set date time computer
  5. Uncheck the option Sync with an Internet time server.
  6. Click OK.

6. Run SFC scan

  1. Go to Start and type cmd.
  2. Next, right-click on Command Prompt.
  3. Select Run as administrator.
  4. Now type the sfc /scannow command.
  5. Restart your computer. All corrupted files will be replaced on reboot.

Note: Don’t forget to first backup your Registry in case anything goes wrong. In this manner, you’ll be able to restore a working version of Windows.


7. Run the Windows 10 Troubleshooter

  1. Go to Settings and select Update & Security.
  2. Next, on Troubleshoot select the Windows Store Apps option.
