1. Use a different browser

If Google Chrome still can’t load your Gmail inbox, try using a different browser.

You probably already have Microsoft Edge pre-installed on your computer. However, for a faster and safer browsing experience, we recommend installing and making the Opera browser as your default one.

2. Use a different email client

When you are using your browser to read your emails, you need to understand that the actual website is very complex. Basically, it tries to mimic a desktop app in terms of functionalities.

This usually means that users face various errors, including the Something went wrong error displayed by Gmail.

3. Reinstall Chrome

Manually uninstall Chrome following these steps:

1. Find and delete the browser folder usually located in

    C:Program Files (x86)GoogleChrome

2. Delete the Chrome data folder as well. By default, the path should be

    C:Users%username%AppDataLocalGoogleChrome

3. Download and install Google Chrome back using the official download link.

4. Clear browsing data

1. Click the three dots icon on the top right corner of Google Chrome
2. Select More tools > click Clear browsing data
3. Make sure to select All time as the time range
4. Click Clear data

5. Check Internet connection

1. Perform a speed test on your Internet connection
2. Check to see if other websites load properly
3. Hard reset your modem/router
4. Make sure to use a wired connection instead of Wi-Fi
5. Contact your Internet provider if you notice abnormal Internet activity
