Gun Rounds is a Turn-Based Rogulike Blaster Inspired by Downwell

If you’re looking for a smart, retro-tinged, blaster with some tactical elements, a shade of Downwell and a lot of crazy, then Gun Rounds could well be the game for you. It’s out right now on the Google Play Store, and it’s got a lot going for it.

For one thing, it’s got some of the best music we’ve heard in a while. It’s like walking into an arcade in the 80’s, in the best possible way. The gameplay, which involves blasting enemies with massive weapons, is all turn-based, but in some pretty interesting ways.

You can check out what we’re talking about in the trailer we’ve embedded below. Make sure you’ve got the sound turned on so you can immerse yourself in that wonderful soundtrack.

The game isn’t turn-based in the traditional sense. Instead it blends together real-time and turn-based to make something fresh and exciting. It’s been around on PC for a while, and it’s been getting some rave reviews there.

If you want to give Gun Rounds a go, you can click here to download it from the Google Play Store right this second. We reckon you’re going to fall in love with the experience, which should make the $2.99 price point pretty damn palatable.

Have you played Gun Rounds? Got your own experience with the game to share? Then make sure you let us know in the comments section below this paragraph.
